PPP in Brazil: what the occupational exposure profile is and how to get it
Published · Updated
The PPP records the harmful agents you were exposed to and is the main evidence for special retirement. Since 2023 it is electronic and shows up on Meu INSS.

The PPP (Perfil Profissiográfico Previdenciário) is the document describing a worker's duties and the harmful agents they were exposed to, such as noise, heat, chemicals and biological agents. It is the main evidence for special retirement. Since January 1, 2023, the PPP is electronic, sent by the employer to eSocial and viewable on Meu INSS.
Quick summary
- Purpose: proving special service time to the INSS and exposure to risks.
- Issued by: the employer, based on the technical report (LTCAT).
- Delivery: mandatory when the contract ends (Law 8,213/1991, art. 58, § 4).
- Electronic PPP: periods from 2023 onward appear on Meu INSS.
- Older periods: still on paper; ask the employer.
How to get your PPP
- Periods since 2023: log in to Meu INSS and look for "PPP" or the employment record.
- Earlier periods: request it in writing from HR. Refusal can be reported to the Ministry of Labor.
- Company closed: look for reports with the union, former colleagues, old labor cases, or ask for an expert inspection in court.
What to check on the PPP
- Start and end dates for each job.
- Harmful agents and their intensity (for example, noise in decibels).
- The technical professional responsible for environmental records.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and whether it was effective.
Errors on the PPP can lead the INSS to deny special time. If the document does not reflect reality, ask the employer to correct it or take it to the Labor Courts.
Frequently asked questions
Is the employer required to give me the PPP?
Yes. Delivery is mandatory when the contract ends, and workers can request it at any time.
Does the PPP apply to people not exposed to risks?
It is required only for those working with harmful agents. Without exposure, there is no special time to prove.
Does PPE use remove the right to special retirement?
It can, if the PPE is effective. For noise above the limit, the STF ruled that PPE does not remove special time.
